Why “383”?
Studio 383 is named for the Brooklyn address where founder Blake Babbitt’s filmmaking journey began over a decade ago - a small apartment where the first edits, the first ideas, and the first real belief in storytelling took shape. The numbers became a quiet marker of origin, something he returned to again and again as his voice evolved.
But 3–8–3 represents more than a place.
3 is the structure of story: beginning, middle, end.
8 is the symbol of infinity: creative expansion, evolution, and possibility.
The final 3 is the return: the idea that all meaningful work circles back to truth, intention, and purpose.
Studio 383 honors where the work started, but also the creative philosophy that drives it today:
